The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics and AcademyHealth are accepting submissions from graduate students of static or interactive data visualizations that address social determinants of health using National Center for Health Statistics public use files with other public use data.
National Center for Health Statistics data covers an array of topics that can be explored across demographic, socioeconomic, and geographic characteristics. This range can make it challenging to present data to different audiences—policymakers, researchers, community-based organizations, and members of the public—who may not have the time or resources to analyze the data themselves.
To participate in the competition, download the interest form and application guidelines. The deadline to submit entries is November 14.
Two winning teams will receive complimentary registration to attend the February 2023 Health Datapalooza or an equivalent monetary award.
