Lester R. Curtin Award Winner
Jaime Lynn Speiser, PhD Biostatistics Student, Medical University of South Carolina
Jamie L. Speiser is a PhD student in biostatistics at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). After completing her master’s degree in statistics at The Ohio State University, Speiser distinguished herself as a research associate in the department of public health sciences at MUSC, particularly in her work with acute liver failure research data. She continues to work on challenges associated with this research, attempting to develop predictive models for various outcomes related to this rare condition. Speiser’s work could lead to improved statistical models for dealing with complex disease data. Because of her outstanding potential for success as a health statistician, she has been selected as the 2015 recipient of the Lester R. Curtin Award.
