U.S. General Services Administration, in partnership with ChallengePost, created the website Challenge.gov to bring together the best talent for solving some of our nations problems. Government agencies post challenges such as writing software, inventing products, creating data sets, and submitting ideas. Money is often offered for a winning submission.
For example, the Department of Labor challenged the public last October to create data visualizations that assist in making career choices or moving to a new area. The first-place award of $15,000 went to Symsoft for their visual graphic, “Where Are the Jobs?”
