The seven-day workshop will take place June 12-18 at Columbia University in New York City and is designed to help students get a sense of how statisticians approach large, complex problems. Several topics will be presented over the course of the week, including the following:
* Text and document analysis
* Environmental statistics
* Earth and space science
The short program is designed to encourage students to attend graduate school in statistics. It is aimed at undergraduates who are rising juniors or seniors.
