For this year only, the U.S. National Academy of Sciences William O. Baker Award for Initiatives in Science will be made in the field of statistics and machine learning.
Formerly the NAS Award for Initiatives in Research, the award will recognize innovative young scientists and encourage research likely to lead toward new capabilities for human benefit. The award is to be given to a resident of the United States, preferably no older than 35. The recipient will be awarded a $15,000 prize.
The deadline for nominations is October 1. Information about how to submit a nomination can be found on the NAS website. Questions may be directed to awards@nas.edu.
