Applications Sought for Summer Institute in Brain Imaging Genetics

Brain lit up with colors and lights

Applications are open for the 2027 Summer Institute on Reproducible Research in Brain Imaging Genetics (RR-BIG), taking place July 12–30 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. The in-person program trains early-career researchers to conduct reproducible analyses using ABCD Study data. Applications are due January 31, 2027.

Participants will gain hands-on experience analyzing neuroimaging and genetics data and learn to integrate that data with behavioral data for mental health research. Working in small, mentored teams, they will complete collaborative projects and develop skills for reproducible, transparent analysis.

The institute welcomes applications from PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career faculty in statistics, biostatistics, data science, neuroscience, genetics, psychiatry, psychology, and related fields.

Travel, housing, and some meals are covered, and graduate-level course credit is available.

Visit the institute’s website for more information or apply online. Questions may be directed to Megan Schlick at (612) 625-5451.
