The Caucus for Women in Statistics and Data Science is offering the following two travel awards for the 2026 Joint Statistical Meetings:
- Lee Family Travel Award – $500
- Do-Bui International Travel Award – $500 (domestic) / $1,000 (international)
These awards provide reimbursement for travel expenses to JSM and will be granted to CWS members who are early-career professionals (fewer than five years of professional experience) or PhD students in statistics or a related field. Winners must have submitted an abstract to JSM, and funds must be used for travel to the conference.
The application deadline is May 31.
Eligibility and Membership
- CWS membership is required
- Free membership for students; low-cost options available for first-time members
- Membership is open to everyone
Application Process
Applicants must complete the Lee Family Travel Award or Do-Bui International Travel Award form and upload the following documents:
- A one-page letter of interest, including a statement on other potential funding sources
- A research description (up to two pages) detailing the work to be presented at JSM
- A curriculum vitae
- A letter of support from a career mentor or academic adviser
