Applications Sought for Cox Scholarship

A woman uses a computer while surrounded by graphical representations of statistics and data science.

Applications are being accepted for the Gertrude M. Cox Scholarship until March 1.

This scholarship was established to encourage women to enter statistically oriented professions. Two scholarship recipients are selected each year: a woman in or entering into the early stages of graduate training (MS or PhD) and a woman in a more advanced stage of training. Scholarship recipients receive $1,000.

Application is limited to female permanent residents of the United States or Canada who are admitted to full-time study in a graduate statistics program by July 1 of the award year.

The award will be presented at the Joint Statistical Meetings.

The scholarship is sponsored by the ASA Committee on Women in Statistics and Caucus for Women in Statistics and Data Science.
