Advocate for Data Science and Literacy on Capitol Hill
To take advantage of JSM being in our nation’s capital, the ASA science policy office invites ASA members to advocate for greater data literacy on Capitol Hill through in-person meetings with staff of their congressional representatives.

ASA Seeks New Science Policy Fellow
A one- to two-year position, the fellow will be based at the ASA headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia; however, they will spend the bulk of their time in Washington, DC, advocating for statistics and experiencing first-hand how federal science policy is formed.

Advocating for Statistics: How You Can Help Our Profession
The most effective way to increase advocacy for statistics, writes ASA Science Policy Director Steve Pierson, is for more of you to be involved in activities that include nonstatisticians, so more people are personally acquainted with a statistician. Through increased individual outreach, more people will learn what statisticians do and what statistics is, which is the foundation of advocating for our profession.
