Biopharmaceutical Section Seeks Submissions for Student Paper Award
Submissions are now being accepted for the 2013 Biopharmaceutical Student Paper awards ($1,000 for first place, $600 for second place, $400 for third place), presented annually during the Biopharmaceutical Section open business meeting held during the Joint Statistical Meetings. Winners will present their paper in one of the contributed paper sessions at JSM 2013 in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

Environmental Statistics Student Paper Competition Announced
The ASA Section on Statistics and the Environment is sponsoring a student paper competition on the topic of environmental statistics. Papers can consist of novel approaches to the analysis of environmental data, new methodology with a clear application to an environmental statistical issue, or application of statistics to environmental problems.

Applicants Wanted for 2013 Travel Awards
The ASA Survey Research and Methods Section seeks applicants for the student travel award in doctoral programs in statistics, survey methodology, or allied disciplines. Support is offered for students to attend the 2013 Joint Statistical Meetings, to be held in Montréal, Québec, from August 3–8.
