Modeling Contest Urges Students to Solve Real-World Problems

The Consortium for Mathematics and Its Applications’ High School Mathematical Contest in Modeling and new Middle Mathematical Contest in Modeling are designed to provide middle- and high-school students with the opportunity to work in a team to engage in and improve their modeling, problem-solving, and writing skills. Teams will apply mathematics to model, develop, and communicate a solution to a real-world problem.

Registration begins in November, and there is a $100 registration fee. Visit the consortium’s website for details. Also, follow @COMAPMath on Twitter for the most up-to-date information.
