The Consortium for the Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics Education announced the winners of two recent undergraduate-level statistics project competitions, the Undergraduate Class Project Competition and Undergraduate Statistics Research Project Competition.
Following is the list of Undergraduate Class Project Competition winners:
- First Place: “Which Traits Attract Women? Appearance, Intelligence, Wealth, or Strength?” by Josh Nymyer, Sam Verhulst, and Bryce Schelhaas, Dordt College
- Section Place: “Vacant Opportunities” by Nokolay Ratajczak, University of Baltimore
- Third Place: “Studies on Water Components” by Robin Dunn, Kenyon College
Following is the list of Undergraduate Statistics Research Project Competition winners:
- First Place: “Making the Grade: A Cross-National Analysis of Teacher Training on Student Achievement Across 52 Nations” by Natalie Bold, Seattle University
- Second Place: “Semiparametric Regression for Measurement of Parts Data” by collaboration between Winona State University, Lehigh University, and Central Michigan University students
