The 15th annual Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS) New Researchers Conference will take place August 1-3 in Montréal, Canada.
Sponsored by IMS and the Statistical Society of Canada, the conference is intended to promote interaction among new researchers in probability and statistics. Participants will present their research via a short expository talk and a poster. The contributed talks will be complemented by longer talks by four plenary speakers, the IMS president, Hans Rudolf Künsch, and the winner of the 2013 Tweedie Award.
Panels on teaching, mentoring, publishing, and funding will take place during the last day of the conference.
Any new researcher who has earned a PhD on or after 2008, or expects to defend his or her thesis by the end of 2013, is eligible to attend. The deadline to send in your application is February 1. Due to limited space, participation is by invitation only. To apply, submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and title and abstract of the presentation/poster via the conference website.
Higher priority will be given to first-time applicants. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Contingent on the availability of funds, financial support for travel and accommodation may be provided; however, participants are strongly encouraged to seek partial funding from other sources.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am interested in participating in IMS new researcher conference.
That provides an opportunity for all young researchers to develop their knowledge in Statistics and related fields.
Best regards,
Mahdi.
