The Statistics Division of the American Society for Quality is offering several grants for early career industrial statisticians to attend the 56th Fall Technical Conference (FTC), to be held October 4–5, 2012, at the Millennium Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. The grants include the cost of registration, meals (up to $50), and lodging.
The target audience for these grants includes individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Graduated with an undergraduate or graduate degree in statistics within the last three years
- Work in quality or statistics positions in industry
- Would be unable to attend the conference without financial assistance
- Are presenting work at the FTC
Candidates are asked to write one to two paragraphs detailing their motivation for attending the conference and the anticipated benefits of participation. Applicants should send this and a letter of interest, together with a letter of recommendation from an immediate supervisor, by July 1, 2012, to:

The FTC is sponsored jointly by the ASQ’s Chemical and Process Industries Division (CPID) and Statistics Division (STAT), along with two sections of the American Statistical Association: Section on Quality and Productivity (Q&P) and Section on Physical and Engineering Sciences (SPES).
