Awards and Scholarships

The American Statistical Association (ASA) and many of its chapters and sections recognize those who have made outstanding contributions to the field of statistics or the association. Awards and competitions for statisticians also are sponsored by many societies and held yearly. Scholarships and Awards for Graduate Students—The following scholarships and awards are offered to graduate students who are studying statistics:

Student Paper Competition/Travel Award to Attend the Joint Statistical Meetings—Policies and procedures that apply to all ASA section competitions. Included is a link to each of the ASA’s sections that offer paper competition and travel awards.

Conference Grant Program—a small grant program to pay the primary registration fees for members of the Statistical Programmers and Analysts Section of the ASA who have recently graduated and who want to attend an ASA conference.
